Make new herb plants for free

-

Invigorate your herbs by dividing them now. It may be that you need to control their spread but whether you want more or less, you can replant the best young pieces for a fresh supply of foliage for the kitchen. Clump-forming plants such as mint, oregano, lemon balm and tarragon can all be split. Dig the plant out or knock it out of its pot, then pull the clump apart into hand-sized pieces. Trim both roots and shoots then replant the outer, youngest pieces. Firm in and keep watered for a few weeks until they are established.
