Prune frost-damaged shrubs
Snip off the frost-damaged leaves on slightly tender evergreens such as bay. Look for the tell-tale brown scorch marks on the outer, more exposed leaves. Cold winds can cause this damage, too. On some species the scorch damaged areas can look quite wet. Just snip the affected stem back to a healthy bud to leave the plant looking green again. Those leaves will be replaced in just a few weeks. The prunings can be added to the compost heap.
