Sow grass seed to fill gaps in lawns

STEP BY STEP

-

Spring is a good time to repair and rejuvenate your lawn. Once you’ve weeded it, sow grass seed into any bare patches. This will improve the look of your lawn and prevent weeds spreading and taking over instead of the grass.

POUR some compost onto the bare patch, rake it gently into the soil, then tamp it down level with the rest of the ground.

PINCH some seeds between your fingers and sprinkle them evenly over the compost. Firm them in gently with your hand.

FIT a fine rose to your watering can, then water slowly and gently, making sure the seeds don’t get washed out of place.
