Trachelosp­ermum asiaticum or

T. jasminoide­s, a honeysuckl­e such as Lonicera periclymen­um ‘Graham Thomas’ or sweet peas sown or planted each year.

When planting, add plenty of compost, well-rotted manure or leafmould to improve the water-holding ability of the soil.
