A greener way to garden
GARDENA’s new and improved designs are helping passionate gardeners reduce their consumption – and get excellent results at the same time
Whether it’s cutting water use or working with more energyefficient equipment, gardeners across the country are looking to garden more resourcefully. GARDENA understands this, which is why it’s constantly striving to design products and systems geared towards less wasteful gardening.
GARDENA has just launched its MicroDrip system range, which makes it easier than ever to reduce your water consumption and set up your own micro irrigation system. MicroDrip saves up to 70% more water compared to standard irrigation methods and is perfect for watering potted plants, flower and vegetable beds, as well as young hedgerows.
Not only does it save water, but it also promotes healthy plant growth, as the water penetrates the soil right down to the roots where plants need it most. This also encourages deeper rooting, meaning plants will be more able to withstand drought conditions, when water is scarce closer to the surface. The system is intuitive and easy to install too, thanks to GARDENA’s Quick&Easy technology, so you’ll be up and running in no time at all.
Always improving
GARDENA’s commitment to continuously refining its offering can also be seen in this year’s expansion of the EcoLine collection. It’s the first range of garden hand tools and watering equipment made from more than 65% recycled materials, most of which come from household waste.
This year also sees the launch of the new EcoLine hose, made from ThermoPlastic Elastomer (TPE) and post-consumer recycled plastics. And all the packaging is made from recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. Everything is created to the same high-quality standard you would expect from GARDENA, with a 25-year warranty on all hand tools, five years on watering products and 30 years for the new EcoLine hose.
“GARDENA’s new MicroDrip and EcoLine ranges are built on the foundation of the circular Rs: Reduce, Repair, Recycle. Together we want to inspire all passionate gardeners to learn about sustainable gardening practices, and how gardeners can care for their gardens while also caring for the planet. These don’t need to be drastic measures, but simple things like using a water conserving irrigation system, harvesting rainwater, and making more environmentally friendly purchasing decisions.” LYNNE LAMBOURNE GARDENA sustainability ambassador
