With the bulk of humanity now living in cities for the first time in history, designers and planners are challenged with creating liveable and sustainable environments that also allow us a connection with nature while encouraging creativity and activity.

Drawing on an international selection of speakers from horticulture and landscape design, the 2015 Australian Landscape Conference considers the balance between Art and Nature when it comes to designing meaningful spaces for living.

Conference activities The heart of the conference is the series of speakers’ talks taking place on the Saturday and Sunday. In addition, there are optional activities (at an additional cost) aimed at bringing greater insight and inspiration to your conference attendance. You may choose to take the tour to the Dandenong Ranges to visit five unique gardens nestled among lush fern gullies and towering mountain ash. On the Saturday evening you are invited to attend a Speakers’ Dinner at the Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club, giving you the chance to meet with the conference speakers. On the following Monday there is a free tour of Warner’s, one of Australia’s leading plant growing nurseries. Plus there’s a series of workshops scheduled for the Monday and Tuesday, which will allow for interactive discussions and a more hands-on learning experience within a smaller group.

All garden lovers are welcome, whether professional or enthusiast.
