Win a visit to the new RHS Chatsworth show and overnight stay
The first-ever RHS Chatsworth Flower Show will take place this summer in the spectacular grounds of Chatsworth House in Derbyshire’s Peak District. Running from 7-11 June, the new show, complete with stunning show gardens and plant displays, will celebrate ‘Design Revolutionaries’ and the innovation that has changed the way we think about gardens and garden design. Competition Wealth manager Brewin Dolphin is sponsoring one of the show gardens and to celebrate the event’s first year, is offering two readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to visit the show on Wednesday 7 June along with an exclusive private tour of the Brewin Dolphin garden with awardwinning designer Jo Thompson. The prize also includes overnight accommodation on 7 June with dinner and breakfast at the Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa in nearby Brimington (ringwoodhallhotel.com). The Brewin Dolphin garden at RHS Chatsworth Flower Show The Brewin Dolphin garden, designed by award-winning designer Jo Thompson, will create a spectacular horticultural installation in the new FreeForm category.
Sitting on the banks of the River Derwent, the garden will reflect the grandeur of its setting and provide a spectacular contemporary view of the historic vistas. A striking steel sculpture will sweep through the space in a series of wide curves, with the garden areas dotted along the sculpture’s main frame interspersed by wildflower meadows, connecting a glade of trees at one end and an ornamental garden at the other. A soft pastel planting palette of blues and pinks with highlights of apricot will contrast with the patina of the steel, while paving and sculptural seating used throughout the garden will reference the millstones found across the Peak District.
Jo Thompson has been named as one of the country’s top ten designers and is a leading plantswoman. For Brewin Dolphin, RHS Chatsworth is the flagship event in its 2017 annual programme of gardening events. gardening.brewin.co.uk How to enter For your chance to win one of two pairs of tickets to visit RHS Chatsworth Flower Show and overnight stay at the Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa, answer the question: Name the famous 19th-century English gardener and architect associated with Chatsworth.
