Fuchsia magellanica ‘Lady Bacon’
In smaller gardens, plants should earn their keep and fuchsias are particularly generous, flowering and sustaining a fresh appearance from late spring well into the depths of autumn. To keep them performing prune hard in the spring, feed with good, rich compost and protect against capsid bugs. The flowers are a pretty vignette of white sepals, an amethyst corolla with a fuchsiapink tube and ovary. Blooms are produced at the tips of the new shoots so are easily reached by pollinating birds and insects.
