Peonies have seen a justifiable boost to their popularity this year thanks to their starring role in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding, and now is the time to plant them if you want to enjoy the blooms next summer. Hayloft Plants has a new collection of fragrant herbaceous peonies that are all good for cutting. The collection includes the frilly white P. lactiflora ‘Duchesse de Nemours’, the pink P. lactiflora ‘Paul M Wild’, and P. ‘Coral Charm’, which has flowers that open a salmon pink then fade to yellow. It’s priced at £24 for three plants (one of each), or £ 42 for nine plants (three of each). All are supplied as bare root plants.
