Kelly Clarkson

It’s no coincidence Kelly Clarkson still has a career 15 years after she won American Idol: she’s a supremely likeable singer whose performances brim with sincerity: when Clarkson sings it, you believe it. Album eight sees her inch a little closer towards the middle of the road, but with style and soul. Move You is a suitably dramatic ballad, Love So Soft sounds like a classy Meghan Trainor song, and Medicine is a charming Mariah Carey homage. Nothing goes off like Since U Been Gone or Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You), but overall, this is another self-assured and enjoyable effort.
