W London, Leicester Square.

- Words William J Connolly

From the heart of Leicester Square, W London has unveiled a sensory experience for all ages – set to thrill anybody lucky enough to walk through its doors.

Breaking the mould and pushing into an exciting world that merges music with fashion, in-room experiences and a one-of-a-kind ‘techorative’ pillow by esteemed designer Jack Irving that quite literally shines brightly as night falls, the all-new 192 rooms, inclusive of 28 suites, have undergone a multi-millionpound transformation that aims to fuel its guests’ lust for life – shattering the traditional concept of luxury. Picture it: newly renovated room, floor-to-ceiling photo-friendly mirrored walls inclusive of daring new feature walls, mood-set music as you move from welcome desk to your room, and everything from your television to your lights controlled from one centralised tablet, giving you full control of the innovative in-room technology during your stay. Like the people who stay there, every room at W London is unique. Designed by renowned architects Concrete and kitted out by Krause Design, consider your room an extension of the bright world that is the rest of the hotel. After all, it’s not every hotel that features a sparkling version of its own logo that’s quite literally biŒer than you down at the entrance!

For all you technology nerds like us out there, this new generation in hospitality will triŒer every one of your senses. With your access to all the room’s functions via the previously mentioned central tablet, the DigiValet technology turns you into the lord (or lady!) of your very own manor, fully customisable to your mood (ours, always hot pink). W London has teamed up with Kobalt, a music tech company, to curate playlists showcasing London’s coolest upand-coming artists, including W London’s own Music Curator, DJ and producer, Olivia Dawn. Global music-lovers can tune in to hear what’s playing in real time at any of the 55 W Hotels worldwide. And when you’re ready to eat, a simple click and it’ll arrive at your door – looking just like the photo. And when it all becomes a bit too much in your room, and you’ve clicked every button, ordered all the food and danced around in your pants to Donna Summer for a good hour (obviously we’ve never done this), grab a snack from the room’s Mini Mega Bar or book a massage at the hotel’s urban oasis, AWAY Spa.

There might be an entire city waiting to be explored outside in the capital, but maybe it can wait. W London is a place bursting with day-to-night activities that’ll leave you ready to unwind come nightfall. And if you’re looking for one final moment of madness, wrap up with Jack Irving’s favourite cocktail, the Blood Orange Smash, and a picture-perfect Insta opp in the iconic bar, The Perception. Ahhh, bliss!
