Growth of migration

The number of international migrants worldwide has continued to grow in recent years, although this growth slowed in 2020, owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. There were an estimated two million fewer migrants by mid-2020, a decrease of around 27 per cent in the growth expected from July 2019 to June 2020.
