ANASTASIA and ELVIRA PUYKO

were first photographed by Alexander in February 1996, in a Nenets reindeerskin tent in the forest near Nadym in Siberia. Anastasia is seen comforting her daughter as she begins to cry in her cradle, which is suspended from a tent pole. The second photograph was taken in Yar-Sale in western Siberia in 2017 at the hospital where Anastasia works as a nurse. Elvira was studying to work in a bank.
