Celebrating gin excellence
The winners revealed in the 2019 Icons of Gin Awards
In our second year of the Icons of Gin awards, we have been overwhelmed by the interest within the industry and the diversity of the producers, retailers and individuals nominated by their peers.
These awards are always fun to host, because it’s a great indicator of the strength of camaraderie that exists within the gin industry. For those who are new to the awards, they first of all rely on peer-to-peer nominations, before the team here at
whittle down a shortlist. Those shortlists are then put out again to the industry for voting, before our winners are revealed.

The categories are also enjoyable to run the rule over. When you think about which brands and producers have innovated the most over the past 12 months, you truly get to appreciate how much gin, as a product, has developed in recent times. Likewise, when it comes to retailers and bars, the demand for good gin is encouraging all aspects of the industry to reach higher levels.
It’s therefore a genuine pleasure to present to you the winners from this year’s awards. All can claim to be considered by their peers to be icons within the industry. There are some new faces here alongside those who celebrated success 12 months ago. I’m sure that we’ll see many, if not all of these nominees again another year down the line, however, I am also confident that the pace of change and excitement that is currently within gin will see new faces and characters make their make on these awards. For now, I hope you’ll raise a glass to all of our winners and celebrate them as Icons of Gin 2019.
