Nose: Incredibly bold from the off, with a herbal edge to it, with a caraway note.

Palate: It’s fennel which, I think, is offsetting the heat that could have been present due to the ABV. Mixed in with herbal notes, there appears to be some dark berry compote to add sweetness.

Finish: Something that I hadn’t got before here is liquorice.

Comments: I really enjoyed this gin. It has a lot of punchy flavours, but considering the ABV it’s extremely smooth and sippable. I’d happily enjoy this served long.

Nose: A relatively subtle nose with hints of orris, a little green, leafy mint and sage.

Palate: The texture is noteworthy given the high ABV: it’s particularly smooth with only a little tingle of heat on the lips. Herbal notes are accompanied by juicy blackcurrant and sweet anise. This has a pleasant mix of leafy herbal and plump, fruity characteristics.

Finish: A little flash of black pepper heat with a touch of treacle and spiced festive cookies.

Comments: An intense gin whose character really opens up with the addition of water.
