Nose: Stem ginger balls in syrup. Malty tea loaf with baking spices and lashings of butter. Sweet citrus and bright pine notes.
Palate: The ginger is freshly sliced in a curry this time, with chopped chillies and coriander stalks. This is followed by more stem ginger and lemon sweetness with earthy spices.
Finish: Fades smoothly with gingery warmth and lemon peel.
Comments: The ginger flavour came through well, but it could stand up to more juniper intensity. I’d like it in a lemony, citrusy serve.

Nose: Notably oily and powerful on the nose with bold aromas of citrus and ginger, but this would be toned down when mixed.
Palate: Strong and oily spiced flavours of fresh ginger root from the outset. It is complex, with the combination of fire and woody spice that you would expect. This develops into a woody, resinous flavour with hints of citrus.
Finish: A long finish of ginger and woody spice, with more citrus and candied ginger.
Comments: A bold gin that would shine in the right drink; I’d suggest a toddy or highball.
