Beefeater’s new Zesty Lemon Gin is here

-

Beefeater is shining a spotlight on one of gin’s most common botanicals in its latest product, Beefeater Zesty Lemon.

The new gin takes inspiration from the brand’s founder James Burrough, who scoured Covent Garden market in London to find the freshest lemons for his spirits – a fruit which remains at the heart of Beefeater Gin today.

Master distiller Desmond Payne added natural lemon flavours to the classic Beefeater London Dry Gin base to create the Zesty Lemon expression, which the brand says has a punchy citrus aroma and clear juniper flavours.

Desmond said: “Citrus has always been an important element in our gins. It brings freshness to the balance of the overall flavour. It is also a perfect complement to the classic notes of juniper and the earthier flavour of angelica. Beefeater Zesty Lemon was inspired by the Burrough’s Lemon Gin produced in the 1950s. This contemporary approach delivers a zingy freshness that makes it perfect for today’s discerning gin drinker, with a hint of sweetness on the palate and a burst of zesty lemon on the finish.”

Murielle Dessenis, Beefeater’s global brand director, said: “Our Urban Explorers are constantly on the hunt for something new... Our new flavoured gin is not only vibrant and perfect for Instagram, but citrus has always been at the centre of Beefeater, making it a perfect fit for the brand.”

Beefeater Zesty Lemon will launch in 10 countries, including the Czech Republic and Russia, in March 2022.
