Nose: Strong, zesty orange notes – like a spiced orange pudding with plump segments. A hint of red berry, with assertive juniper, coriander seed and a touch of cinnamon.

Palate: Orange and milk chocolate with cassia and coriander, bright juniper and floral hints too.

Finish: It gets more piney and savoury with a touch of bitter herbs and orange. It has a nice warmth and good length to it.

Comments: Good botanical intensity and well-integrated alcohol. I can see it making a tasty Negroni.

Nose: Green peppercorns on the nose, and the bright pineiness of juniper.

Palate: Fresh, green leaves to start, joined by lemon verbena and basil. The gin coats the tongue and is full-bodied and oily.

It’s powerful, but the high strength is well integrated. Notes of orange and lime give a bright liveliness.

Finish: A final pepperiness is neatly combined with notes of juniper and lime.

Comments: A fun navy gin that is a bit different to its contemporaries. I’d enjoy it in a long Gimlet.
