Bethany

Nose: Strawberry and watermelon cordial. Rich notes of blackcurrants macerated in caster sugar. A light floral/herbal note, like strawberry leaves.

Palate: The fruit notes turn slightly tarter, like they have been baked until they start to catch at the edges. The texture is fairly light.

Finish: A tart note of rhubarb mingles with the strawberries.

Comments: There’s a really pleasant berry character to this gin, but its lightness means you would have to mix gently, so as not to mask it.

David

Nose: Jammy fruit notes with aromas of berries and some floral spice reminiscent of meadowsweet or bison grass.

Palate: Dry, lightly tart notes of cranberry and loganberry at the front of the palate. These are followed by a slight nuttiness and tannic notes.

Finish: Tea-like tannic notes are combined with notes of flaked almonds and stone fruit pits, making the finish reminiscent of berry eau de vie.

Comments: A great example of a fruit gin – dryer than many contemporaries, with a very balanced sweetness.
