Nose: Sloes upfront: a juicy, almost sour-cherry note from the flesh and a hint of marzipan from the stones. Almond frangipane tart, red apples, cinnamon, brown sugar and melted butter.

Palate: The notes of the nose continue: sloes, sour cherry cobbler, and plenty more cinnamon, with a fruity, spiced warmth like mulled wine.

Finish: The fruit notes turn a little more vinous before a hint of spiced, raisin-studded biscuits.

Comments: A delightfully balanced sloe gin with a lovely spiciness. You could sip this aperitif-style with tonic.

David

Nose: Deep ruby in colour with heavy sediment aromas of stone fruit: apricot, plum, and sloe.

Palate: Rich in texture with a well-balanced sweetness that gradually transforms from a bright jamminess to a slightly sour tartness.

Finish: The tannic character continues onto the finish with a dash of acidity and a hint of chocolate that goes on and on.

Comments: An excellent example of a sloe gin which is exceptionally fruity: extremely sippable and complex. Best enjoyed over ice.
