DARTS LEAGUE

-

THE only all division one clash saw the Cabo Kings take on second placed Red Dragon.

Trailing 2-0 after the threes, a 100 out by Gavin Cawley helped the Kings get their first point but the Dragon hit back taking the next two pairs.

A 180 from Steve Gillett in his singles win followed by wins for Wayne Joseph, Dai Thomas and Jarad Vanagas put the away side further in front before Gary Hodgkinson pulled one back for the home side. A 107 out for Tim Williams made the score 9-2 and Stefan Coombs wrapped things up taking the final game.

Top of the table Wicked Lady B took on top of division two the 5 Bells. 1-1 after the threes, the Lady boys took the lead with Ray Johnson and Mike Doyle taking the first pairs. Kris Russell and Jason Grant levelled things before Tim Jones and Alan Payne put the away side back in the lead.

The singles went all to the Wicked lads as they whitewashed the home side for a 10-2 final score.

The GWR A had a chance to close the gap at the top of league two as they played host to the White Horse. The Horse men had the best of the opening exchanges and led 4-1. The Railway men got back on track with Fred Blank, Clive Hughes, Steve Morrell and Roy Mills taking the first four singles. The away side fought back by claiming the three legs through Neil Dowling, John Cooper and Dai Amos for a 7-5 win. Elsewhere, the remaining division one sides were up against division two opposition.

The Colliers had a 10-2 win over the Cabo B and the Social recorded a 9-3 success away to West House. The Jolliers beat the BUSC A by the same 9-3 score with Preston Richardson hitting a 177 but it did not save him from joining the infamous 6-1 club by Lyn Cooke.

The BUSC B won 8-4 home against the Coach Drivers with Christian Bayliss hitting a 180 and a 17-dart leg from Ray Morris for the home side.

The final game went down to a last leg decider as the Caeffatri took on the GWR B. The Canteen found themselves trailing 4-1 after Andrew James made that 5-1 but the GWR staged a comeback as Andrew, John and Ivor Hillman claimed the next two to pull the score back to 5-4.

Jeff Phillips got the Caeffatri’s two leg advantage back but Chris Hillman pulled the score back to 6-5. Gerwyn Harris claimed the final leg for the home side for a final 7-5 scoreline.

Apologies to Martin Timbrell of the Cabo Kings for not reporting his 161 out in his game a few weeks ago.
