ROYAL PORTHCAWL
WORK continues out on the golf course, as Royal Porthcawl build momentum towards staging the Rolex European Senior Championship for a second time in three years, writes Tony Poole.
Course manager Ian Kinley was last week delighted with exceptional teamwork that saw the first tee being redeveloped.
When the Lock’s Common club last staged the European Senior Championship back in 2014, the course was set up differently in order to accommodate easier passage for both players and supporters.
Players opened their rounds on the normal home hole, and rounded things off on the par-five 17th green.
Meanwhile, only a few days remain on the Royal Porthcawl special winter fourball green fee offer of £60 per person.
Until next Tuesday (February 28), the club will continue to offer this green fee along with coffee and a bacon roll on arrival.
