KEV KICKS OFF

- With Kevin Ellis

THIS Saturday I will be going to Edinburgh with thousands of other Welsh supporters to hopefully see Wales beat a much improved Scotland team. Both teams were outstanding a fortnight ago, playing attractive rugby but both narrowly lost. Dan Biggar has come out saying Wales can win the Six Nations so obviously the squad is confident that they are going to win. The big question is does Rob Howley start Taulupe Faletau or keep him on bench. Personally, I think the back row should stay the same as none of them deserve to get dropped.

It was fantastic to see my old team Warrington beat NRL superstar team Brisbane Broncos 27-18. The atmosphere was electric. It was great to see exBrynteg boy Rhys Evans have a top game and I’m sure a lot of union clubs will be interested in signing him as I know he’s keen on trying the union game at top class level and Rhys is only 24 with massive Super League experience. I think he’d be a great signing for one of our regions and the Wales team with his speed and size and he can play centre or wing.

I have got to say the Ospreys v Munster game was superb even without the internationals. Both teams were outstanding. Ospreys started off superbly, scoring two good tries but credit to Munster, they played some great rugby and in the second half, Munster pressured all half and deserved the win. They scored a late try and converted to win the game. That was the Ospreys’ first defeat at the Liberty Stadium and they go down to third in the table but I’m sure they can win the league when the full squad is available. Scarlets stuffed a poor Zebre team, Blues battered Treviso and Dragons again lost away to Connacht in a close game. QUESTION: What do you think of Wales playing Georgia in the autumn internationals?

I think it’s a great fixture and I’m sure Georgia will be a tough game. They are ranked 12th in the world and a lot of their players play in the French Top 14 league so I’m sure it will be a tough physical challenge for Wales.
