Serious humour guaranteed when Lee comes to town

-

COMEDIAN Simon Brodkin, better know as his mischievous alterego Lee Nelson, will be appearing at The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl, next month with his latest show Serious Joker.

After a year that saw him make the acquaintance of some of the world’s most newsworthy human beings including President Donald Trump, Simon Cowell and Sir Philip Green, Channel 4 lifted the lid on the months of meticulous planning and preparation that went into pulling off the outrageous stunts that featured in Britain’s Greatest Hoaxer, which aired on the channel in February 2017.

The comic is no stranger to hitting the headlines.

2015 saw the comedian create one of the year’s most iconic images when, in the guise of Premier League footballer Jason Bent, he showered disgraced Fifa President Sepp Blatter in bank notes at the organisation’s head- quarters in Zurich, live on TV in front of the world’s press.

Previously Simon has joined Kanye West onstage during the rapper‘s headline set at Glastonbury, gate-crashed a prime-time Saturday night broadcast of The X Factor, and joined the England football team ahead of their flight to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The comic has written and starred in Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show and Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People on BBC Three.

As Lee he has hosted and twice appeared as a guest on Live at the Apollo, and has also performed on shows including Sunday Night at the Palladium and The John Bishop Christmas Show, as well as releasing a live stand-up DVD.

You can catch Lee Nelson at The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl on Friday, May 26. Tickets priced £20 are available from the box office on 01656 815995 or via www. grandpavilion.co.uk
