Pontycymer Over 35s Tour: On the weekend of May 20-21, Pontycymer Over 35s will be returning to Newbury, for this season’s end of season tour.

The squad will be based in Newbury, but will be playing Hungerford Veterans at Triangle Field on Saturday, May 20.

Any past players or supporters who are interested in booking a seat on the bus to travel to Newbury should contact the club for more details.

Pilates Class: Every Thursday at 6.15pm at Litchard Mission Church.

Suitable for both beginners and the intermedia­te level.

Blaengarw Cricket Club: With summer on the way, preparatio­ns for the new cricket season are going well for Blaengarw Cricket Club.

The club meet every Sunday at Tondu Cricket Club at 2pm for indoor net practise.

Garw Valley Links Community Church: The church meets on Sundays at 11am in His Place (next to Spar) in Pontycymer.

Everyone is welcome. Activities for children included. (Children under six need to come with an adult.)

Strictly Cinema: The film/ documentar­y shown this week was the compelling Dark Horse, filmed largely within the valleys. The cinema group are currently looking for suggestion­s as to future films you, the public would like to see screened and the Workmen’s Hall has been booked on Tuesday 2nd May between the hours of 10.30am and 12 noon in the hope that some of the audience will come along to an informal meeting to help choose some films from available trailers and also to see who would be interested in forming a constitute­d group in order to have local ownership, structure and stability to ensure the future of the group. Please come along if you can and offer your views.

Garw SGBC: Congratula­tions to Garw SGBC first team who, on Saturday 15th April, were crowned champions of the South Wales Alliance Division Two. They won the title by beating Carnetown 3-1 away at Carne Park, near Abercynon. Well done to everybody involved with the club.
