A BRIDGEND eatery has been crowned the best hotel restaurant in Wales for the second year in a row.
Leicester’s Restaurant at the Great House Hotel in Laleston won the title at the Food Awards Wales.
A BRIDGEND eatery has been crowned the best hotel restaurant in Wales for the second year in a row.
Leicester’s Restaurant at the Great House Hotel in Laleston won the overall Hotel Restaurant of the Year honour at the third annual Food Awards Wales.
The awards, which raise money for the Make-AWish Foundation, were held at the Marriott Hotel in Cardiff in celebration of the Welsh food industry and the winners are chosen by members of the general public.
Several of the awards were split into local re- gions to ensure the diverse range of businesses from across Wales are recognised for their hard work.
Irfan Younis, CEO of organisers Creative Oceanic, said: “We are honoured and delighted to have such great finalists and winners representing the Welsh food industry and enhancing its reputation nationally and internationally.
“These were the third annual Food Awards Wales. They are a true reflection of the talent in Wales and we want to make sure that the hard work of Welsh food pro- fessionals doesn’t go unnoticed.”
Karen Glicker, general manager of the Great House, said: “We are thrilled to have won the Hotel Restaurant of the Year award.
“It was beyond our expectations to win it for a second year in a row.
“A huge thank you needs to go out to our customers and staff.
“It’s turning into an amazing year for the Great House.
“Our head chef Tommy Heaney will be on the Great British Menu and we are looking forward to the year ahead.”
