Bryngarw Country Park: On Monday, July 24, Immersion Theatre Company present an outdoor performanc­e of the timeless children’s classic, The Wind in the Willows at Bryngarw Country Park.

Tickets cost £10 adults, £8 concession, £8 child, £30 family. For further details, please see the Bryngarw Country Park Facebook page.

Blaengarw Cricket Club: The club holds net practice every Thursday, from 6pm, at Darren Park, Blaengarw.

Garw SBGC: Pre-season training starts on June 29 at Blandy Park, Pontycymer. Sessions start at 6.30pm and all are welcome. Under 18s – Next season, Garw SBGC will be running an under 18s football team. Training will commence on June 29 at Blandy Park, Pontycymer. The team will be training twice a week and home games will be played at Blandy Park. There are no weekly or training subs, just a monthly £5 membership fee per player. Pontycymer Tennis Club: The tennis season has now started on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm at the club, behind Lawrence Park.

Garw Valley Links Community Church: The church meets on Sundays at 11am in His Place (next to Spar) in Pontycymer. Everyone is welcome. Activities for children included (children under six need to come with an adult). Garw Valley Links meet every Sunday at 6pm in Blaengarw Community Centre. Contact Pastor David Rhodes on 871198.

Bridgend Castle Players: NEW PRODUCTION: Bridgend Castle Players proudly present, “A Legendary Death.” Join the audience of this amazing murder mystery night – much more than a usual visit to the theatre! Can you solve the case before Inspector Timespast? This production will take place on Friday 7th July 2017 at Bettws Community Club, Heol Dewi Sant, Bettws, CF32 8TA. Doors will open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are just £5 and, in addition to a buffet, also include an accusation sheet, informatio­n about the characters in the play, and a fun “murder/mystery” quiz. ST Cein's Church, Llangeinor: On Sunday 25th June, Ogmore Vale Male Voice Choir will hold a concert at the church, beginning at 7pm. The concert will be followed by a social in the Llangeinor Arms with refreshmen­ts. Tickets on the door, or in advance from Paul Williams on 01656 841062.

Tynrhyheol summer fete: The PTFA will be holding their Summer Fete on Saturday 8th July at the LLangeinor Football field. Tables are available for anyone wishing to have a display and are priced at £10. If interested, please contact Deb Davies, or email cllr.roz.stirman@bridgend.gov.uk

Slimtone at Blaengarw: Slimtone will be celebratin­g 35 years of success at Blaengarw R.F.C. on Wednesday 21st June and also at Dan Y Mynydd on Friday 23rd June.

Marie Griffiths: Would like to thank all members for their support during this time and also for the generosity they have shown. The fund raising events have donated nearly £50,000 to local charities, including Sandville, Ty Hafan, Angelton Clinic, Velindre and Princess of Wales Hospital.
