GARW ............................. 1 PENCOED ATHLETIC . 15

BLANDY Park was packed to the rafters last Saturday to see dynamite Jack Delve grace this iconic old Welsh League ground, writes Tony Poole.

And the Pencoed jack in the box didn’t disappoint scoring four of the finest goals Blandy fans have witnessed all season.

But Garw certainly missed store man John Lewis, who released the football pressure valve with a family trip to glorious Tenby.

The Blandy boys were well served by on-fire Mark Wood along with young guns in Chris Davies and Dean Taylor.

But they were whistling in the wind for most of the game, as the tabletopping boys from Felindre Road took complete control.

Just behind dynamite Delve on the goal-scoring chart were hat-trick heroes Jimmy King and Matthew Bowen.

Goal braces came from Matty Roberts and Ryan King while stout-hearted Liam Murphy felt so sorry for Garw that he scored at both ends.

And late in the half, iconic Garw Valley sportsman D G Lloyd stood out like a beacon in the packed Blandy grandstand.

His late arrival was down to a final modelling session in Pontypridd for the imminent release of the Deri Grogg. dium.

He appeared from the bench in the 42nd minute, as Cardiff went down to a 3-0 defeat.

The side is managed by Jarred Harvey and former Cardiff City and Wales star Andy Legg, who plays golf at the Grove.

Walters followed Goytre team-mate Liam Conteh in being offered a trial with promotionpushing Championship club.

Meanwhile, the draw for the South Wales Senior the red channel.

One of these was headed home in the 81st minute by Pontyclun defender Tommy Tweedy for as good an own-goal as you’ll see in many a day.

Though Caerau pressed late on, they failed to seize enough possession to stretch last year’s South Wales Alliance champions and slid to a 10th defeat in 18 league starts.

Earlier, proud dad Lloyd was spotted in Llangeinor Park, as his talented son Owain was between the sticks for Llangeinor Seconds during a 4-3 loss to Tondu Robins.

In a thrilling Ancoa Scaffolding Bridgend & District League Division Two Cup-tie, Llan opened the scoring via Cian Dix.

That left the Robins red faced, but they then caught Llan on the hop, scoring three times in as many minutes.

Connor Williams responded for Llan, who trailed 3-2 at the changeover, and it was level-pegging early in the second half once Cian Dix got his second goal of an absorbing derby clash.

But with extra-time looming, the Robins winged their way to a late victory on the back of a match-clinching strike. Cup semi-finals was also announced on Monday evening.

It’s paired former winners Cornelly United with South Wales Alliance Division One rivals Penrhiwceiber Con Athletic while Llangeinor face another first-division side – AFC Whitchurch.

The ties will be staged on April 5, and the South Wales FA is hoping to reveal venues later in the week.

Remarkably, have yet to a draw.

With last Saturday’s game at Panteg called off, the Riverboaters now entertain bottom club Treowen Stars on Saturday.

And on Tuesday, a fourth attempt will be made to play the home fixture with Newport City (7.15pm). Caerau record
