Tondu And Aberkenfig Community: An Association to represent the interests of the Communities at Tondu and Aberkenfig Community has been established. This has came about regarding a planning application in 2015, to build a further 450 houses on land to the west of Maesteg Road by Merthyr Mawr Estates, offering little to the community. The Association meets at the Ynysawdre Parish Rooms, Bryn Road, Tondu on the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm and the cost of membership is just £5 per household. Bryncethin Remembrance: The annual service of remembrance will take place at Bryncethin Memorial Hall at 2.30pm on Sunday, November 11. Conducted by Rev Stephen Pare.
Coytrahen Gardening: On Wednesday, November 14 at 7pm, at the Philip Squires community Centre Coytrahen the Gardening Club host An Evening with Rita Sainsbury, Medical Herbalist. Making use of plants, whose traditional uses are backed up by modern scientific research and clinical trials, herbalists treat the underlying cause of disease rather than just the symptoms. Coytrahen Gardening Club is open to new members. Membership is £10 per year however visitors are always welcome with a £2 per visit fee.
Evening Of Clairvoyance: An evening of clairvoyance will be held on Tuesday, November 6, (not Thursday as previously stated) at the Ynysawdre Community Centre, Bryn Road Tondu. Tickets £5. Doors open 6.30pm. Call Mrs Bryant on 01656 657 463 or 07890 234 235.
Spiritual Healing: Spiritual healing is offered each Tuesday from 6pm7.30pm at the Ynysawdre Community Centre (at the junction of Bryn Road and Heol-yr-Ysgol). There is no charge for the service but a small donation to help defray expenses is appreciated. Call Mrs Bryant as before.
