Smyrna Chapel Services: A traditional Sunday school service in Smyrna Chapel, Penyfai, always starts at 10.30am and the evening services take place in Smyrna Chapel starting at 6pm.
There is a coffee morning every Tuesday in the Smyrna Chapel vestry from 10am-12noon where stalls of produce are also on offer.

Community Council: The Bridgend County Borough Council ownership of the Pheasant field Penyfai is being looked into again by Newcastle Higher Community Council clerk John Richfield is to write again to Kelly Watson the Bridgend County Borough Council monitoring officer after receiving a letter back from the Bridgend Council, there is no mention of the Pheasant field being part of the 1967 conveyance, only the Plas Ty Mawr Housing Estate, John Richfield is asking the monitoring officer Kelly Watson to please send the document in the property department of Bridgend County Borough Council that relates to the Pheasant Field that will clarify the matter of Ownership of the freehold land under the Voluntary Registration of land project 2007
