Pupils’ cards to help raise money for their school
TALENTED youngsters from Bridgend have designed Christmas cards for charity.
Six children, aged from two to five years old, created original artworks which were turned into unique designs to support Y Bont, a specialist Bridgend school which helps children with disabilities.
The young artists, who all attend Y Bont, have now seen their festive drawings transformed into 20 individual Christmas card designs.
The artistic project has been brought to life thanks to a collaboration with leading Welsh legal firm CJCH Solicitors, which has created this year’s festive initiative and sponsored the graphic design and printing costs for more than 400 cards, with a view to raising more than £2,000 for the school.
This will be added to the nearly £3,000, CJCH Solicitors has already donated or raised towards supporting its specialist services over the past year.
Senior partner at the firm Jacqui Seal said CJCH was “thrilled” to be supporting the work of this “incredibly worthwhile” centre once again and praised the children’s creativity.
She said: “Y Bont is such a fantastic school which offers immeasurable support and encouragement to children with disabilities and their families right across South Wales.
“This project truly shines a spotlight on just how vital the work of this school is by putting the artistic flair and creativity of the youngsters on display for all to see.
“We are absolutely delighted to have been able to support the charity in its fundraising efforts once again this Christmas, and we would urge every- one to pick up a pack of these beautifully designed cards.
“Not only will they make a lovely keepsake, but these cards will help to make such a significant difference to the lives of children and families living locally.”
All proceeds from the sale of the cards will help to support Y Bont’s daily operating costs, including toys, teaching staff, and facilities such as the sensory room and learning materials.
The Y Bont Christmas cards are for sale now at Y Bont School in Bridgend, along with all CJCH Solicitors offices in Cardiff, Barry, Blackwood, and Bridgend.
Cards are sold in packs of 10 for £6 with proceeds being donated to Y Bont.
