Op­ti­cian’s gets an up­grade

A MAESTEG op­ti­cian’s has in­vested £135,000 into state-of-the-art equip­ment and ad­di­tional test rooms.

The re­con­fig­u­ra­tion at Spec­savers Maesteg will mean 90 more eye tests can be per­formed each week.

It has also funded the store’s first sound­proofed au­di­ol­ogy room and new state-of-the-art equip­ment, in­clud­ing a tonome­ter – a ma­chine that analy­ses fluid pres­sure in­side the eye to help mea­sure glau­coma risk.

Si­mon Mor­ris, store di­rec­tor of Spec­savers Maesteg, said: “This in­vest­ment is part of our on­go­ing com­mit­ment to the com­mu­nity and their ac­cess to lead­ing sight and hear­ing care.

“We hope this will en­cour­age peo­ple to have reg­u­lar eye tests, not only be­cause of the state-of-the-art tech­nol­ogy, but also our at­ten­tion to de­tail and the cus­tomer’s ex­pe­ri­ence.”
