Association nets £2,000 donation from house builder
SPORTS clubs in Bridgend are among the latest good causes to secure funding through Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme.
Each month Persimmon Homes donates up to £2,000 to community groups in each of its 31 geographical operating areas.
This up to £62,000 dished out single month total of £744,000 a year, and more than £2m means is every – a since the scheme started back in 2015.
Edward Wilkins, chairman of The Bridgend Association of Bowls, Tennis, Squash Clubs Community Interest Company, said: “We have embarked on a project to raise £30,000 to provide additional flood lighting and court playing surfaces in Bridgend.
“This will have significant benefits during the winter and spring months, increasing our capacity by an estimated 50%.
“We have a lot of fundraising to go, but we are hugely grateful to Persimmon Homes for their generosity.”
