Aberkenfig Bowls: And so ends the most successful season in the 83 years since the Aberkenfig Welfare Bowling Club was established in 1936.

Hot on the heels of securing promotion from the second division of the Rockwood Triples League, as runners up to Kenfig Hill & Pyle, Aberkenfig travelled to Porthcawl to meet Griffin Park, in the final match in division three of the Port Talbot Triples League.

The evening started with Griffin having a four point lead at the top of the table, but, in a hard fought match, Aberkenfig ran out as 12-2 winners reversing the positions and gaining their second promotion of the week

On the last day of the Mid Vale Championship League Aberkenfig entertained Cefn Cribwr needed just one point to secure promotion, as Champions, having started the day on equal points with Kenfig Hill & Pyle.

Aberkenfig had their tails up, following the earlier results, and ran out comfortable winners against a depleted Cefn side thus completing a hat trick of promotions in the space of ten days
