Contest goes online thanks to Cory Band
CONGRATULATIONS to Cory Band and the various sponsors who organised the Cory Online Brass Band Championships which kicked off on Friday, September 18 online with the 3rd Section starting at 5pm and the 2nd Section starting at 8pm.
The order of the bands who took part from 5pm was Gillingham Imperial Silver (E), followed by Dynamic Brass (NI), Brilliante Brass (SK), Towester Studio (E), Regent Community Brass (E), Brass Band B10 (G), CNL Brass (A), Hawk Green (E), Newcastle PCVC Brass (A) and Lostock Hall Memorial (E).
At 8pm the 2nd Section started with Fjell Brass (N), Durham Miners Association Brass (E), Ammanford Town (W), Gresley Colliery (E), Lochgelly Brass (S); Bearpark & Esh Colliery (E), Wootton Silver (E) and Wantage Concert (E).
On Saturday, September 19 at 5pm the 15 bands in the First Section competed in the following order: BTM Brass (W), Chiltern Hills Brass (E), Drogheda Brass (Ire), Freckleton Brass (E), Brass Band of North Virginia (USA), First Old Boys (NI), Lion City Brass (Sgp), Seindorf Arian Deiniolen (W), Milton Keynes Brass (E), Bollington Brass (E), Arkansas Musicworks (USA), Downshire Brass (NI), Manx Concert Brass (IoM), Shirley Band (E) and Kingdom Brass (S).
On Friday, September 25, the draw for the fourth Section and Unregistered Bands will be as follows and they will start playing at 5pm.
Test Valley Brass (E), Askam Town Silver (E), Amington (E), Fakenham Town (E), London City Brass (E), Royston Town (E), Cross Keys Silver (W),Woodhouse Prize (E), Kings Lynn Town (E), Poyntzpass Silver (NI), Simply Brass (E), University of Bristol Brass (E), Menai Bridge Band Porthaethwy (W), Dungannon Silver (NI), The Camping & Caravanning Club Brass (E), Blackley (E), Gresley Colliery Youth (E), Holmestrand Brass (N), Ashover Brass (E) and Whit Spirit (E).
The Championship Section will take place on Saturday, September 26 at 5pm.
The bands will play in the following order: Glenferrie Brass (A), City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) M1 (W), Enderby (E), Leyland (E), Easington Colliery (E), Hitchin (E), Langley (E), Strata Brass, Elland Silver (E), Fountain City Brass (USA), Michelmersh Silver (E), Brass Band Leieland (B), Redbridge Brass (E), Whitburn (S) and The GUS Band (E).
Each band in the contest will play for 10 minutes.
The results of all the sections will be announced after the Championship section.
