Boks stars are hitting top form

-

SOME of South African rugby’s biggest names are starting to find some real form, putting the Lions on red alert. Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and star flanker Pieter-Steph Du Toit were in Rainbow Cup action against each other over the weekend as the latter’s Stormers beat the Sharks 2523.

The game itself was not a classic but the two players, who will be central figures for South Africa this summer, produced impressive displays.

A report from South African outlet IOL read: “As the British and Irish Lions tour draws closer, the form of senior players who are expected to lead the way for the Boks comes under scrutiny, and after this weekend Bok coach Jacques Nienaber will be sleeping a little easier.

“Kolisi had his best game by some margin since his comeback two months ago,” said Nienaber.

“Du Toit’s already impressive comeback from serious injury went up another notch as he earned the Man of the Mach award.” Stormers boss John Dobson went on to brand Du Toit a ‘remarkable machine’.
