Baby bank receives a cash boost

-

A BABY bank that provides essentials like nappies and milk to struggling families in Bridgend has received a cash boost.

Splice Child and Family Project, which meets in Pyle, has received a £1,000 grant from Persimmon Homes West Wales as part of its Community Champions scheme.

The project is a small grassroots charity which pre-pandemic provided a wide range of activities for families and children.

When the pandemic hit, the charity diversified and the Satellite Baby Bank was born.

The charity has continued to provide baby essentials to families in Bridgend who are struggling financially due to the pandemic.

Tracey Morgan, of Splice Child and Family Project, said: “We are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation.

“These funds will help purchase items for the baby bank as requests for help continue to increase.

“Some families just need support once or twice to tide them over whilst others need longer term support to meet their children’s basic needs. It makes a massive difference to people’s lives.”
