A US study found links between Covid and
It is reported that Covid-19 can have profound effects on the brain during the course of the illness and effects seem to be worse among people who suffer severe Covid symptoms.
A third of people who have had Covid-19 go on to have a neurological or psychiatric condition diagnosed within six months of the infection, says a study of 236,379 US patients.
Prevalence increased with the severity of Covid-19, with nearly half (46%) of those admitted to intensive care being affected, rising to 62% in patients who’d suffered delirium (encephalopathy, brain inflammation) during the illness.
