PLANT OF THE WEEK

-

ASTRANTIA (MASTERWORT)

In flower now and most likely to keep going until the end of summer, Astrantia is an easy plant once it establishes itself on moist humus-rich soil in full sun or partial shade.

An affable personality that mixes well with most of its neighbours, there are several different varieties in soft pink (‘Roma’) and reds such as

‘Moulin Rouge’ and ‘Claret’ as well as white.

Delicate blooms make lovely cut or dried flowers.
