Pencoed Minis and Juniors excited to get back playing
PENCOED RFC Minis and Juniors made the most of the stunning weather in their last touch fixtures before the long awaited return to contact next week.
Pencoed Under 7s, 8s and 9s hosted Nantymoel, Maesteg and Pyle Piglets respectively.
Pencoed U11s journeyed to Bryncethin while the U13s travelled a little further up the valley where they enjoyed a competitive fixture with Maesteg Celtic.
Elsewhere Pencoed U15s endured a tough fitness and skills session hosted by Bridgend Rugby at Pencoed College while the U10s smashed a sponsored climb up Penyfan raising money for a new kit.
Covid has decimated the 2020/21 season with contact matches not played in more than 15 months.
The players are excited to get back to tackling as part of the WRU extended season, which has given children the opportunity to get a few matches in at their current age groups.
Pencoed RFC is also gearing up for the return to rugby for their Youth and Senior teams and are looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with a few friendlies before the 2020/21 season is out.
