Linda has worked tirelessly for Bridgend Deaf Club for many years gaining the respect and appreciati­on of many members.

● Lions Charity Book Sale: Calling all avid readers: pop into the Bridgend indoor market this Saturday, June 26 and Saturdays throughout July and pick up some great bargains for the holiday season.

The stall is manned by members of Bridgend Lions from 10am-3pm and it’s good news that the Market Cafe is now open with lots of interestin­g and useful stalls to browse.

Need a haircut, material or clothes altered, cake decoration­s, a watch fixed, wholesome meat, fruit and veg, great snacks, lovely jewellery, special art work, beautiful children’s wear, taste of Thailand, music, phones, pet food and more?

It is all there and your support will certainly be welcomed.

● Gretna Green Wedding:

Congratula­tions to a newly married couple Owen (originally of Porthcawl) and Danielle Thomas who were married in Scotland’s Gretna Green on June 14 after having their planned wedding with all family and friends cancelled three times!

The happy couple, pictured above, enjoyed the day ‘Just the Two of them’ before touring the Lake District and Blackpool.

They will return to their new home in Swansea and celebrate with a family meal. Congratula­tions to them both!
