Bands in the Park return

ON a less serious note, but one of sheer entertainment, is the very popular event which takes place at Ross-on-Wye on an annual basis, namely the Bands in the Park.

It starts in the Caroline Symonds Gardens on July 4 with the Monmouth Boys School Band.

Each concert takes place from 2.30pm- 4.30pm and the following bands will be involved:

■July 4 – Monmouth Boys

School Band;

■July 11 – Lydbrook Training Band;

■July 18 – Markham & District Band;

■July 25 – Forest of Dean; ■August 1 – Pillowell Silver; ■August 8 – The Film Orchestra; ■August 15 – City of Bristol Band; ■August 22 – Bream Silver Band; ■August 29 – Penclawdd Band; ■September 5 – Proms in The Park, at 1pm, involving Chepstow Community Band, Chepstow Community Gospel Choir and the ever popular Ebbw Vale Brass Band;

■September 12 – Metz Big Band; ■September 19 – Ross Town Band; and

■September 26 – AW Parker (Drybrook) Band.
