BEATS JOINS THE EARBUDS BANDWAGON

-

It seems like all the big hitters are churning out true wireless noise cancelling earbuds – and Beats is the latest company to jump on the bandwagon.

This week it revealed its

Beats Studio Pro Buds, which aim to take on the established crowd, including Google’s Pixel Buds – yes, despite Beats being owned by Apple, these headphones also play nicely with Android devices.

The simple pairing set-up works well both with Googlepowered phones, and with iOS devices, but there’s a catch.

These Beats do not contain the Apple-made H1 or W1 chip that you find in AirPods and other Beats headphones. And that means not all the Apple wizardry works – there’s no pairing sync via iCloud, or audio sharing with other headphones.

Still, with a price point of £129.99 (almost half what you’d pay for AirPods Pro), you can’t have everything.

As long as the sound’s up to spec, and the pairing is as simple as advertised, Beats might be onto a winner.

The Studio Pro Buds will come in three colours – black, white and red – and will hit the stores this summer.
