LIVERPOOL FAVOURITES TO BRING RAMBO BACK

QUITE where Aaron Ramsey’s future lies next season is still up in the air. The Wales playmaker has batted back any talk of a move this summer, insisting he is still a Juventus player and has unfinished business, owing to two years of injury agony so far in Turin.

However, there is no escaping the constant media reports, especially in Italy, that he could leave the Old Lady this summer.

Ramsey sent a timely reminder of his talents at Euro 2020 with Wales with a star turn in the 2-0 triumph over Turkey in the group stages, but also struggled to really stamp his mark on the tournament as a whole.

Nevertheless, there are clubs, big clubs, too, who will be huge admirers of the silky midfielder.

Liverpool have been linked with a move a number of times this summer, however reports on Merseyside have downplayed any interest.

The Anfield club are still the bookmakers’ favourites to sign Ramsey this summer, especially after losing Georginio Wijnaldum to Barcelona in this window.

Ramsey’s former club Arsenal are the second favourites.

Their interest in Ramsey has been a constant theme in any transfer story involving the Welshman leading up to the window, however the player’s agent last week took to social media to quash the rumours gathering pace.

Everton are 6/1 to sign the player, while West Ham, who have also been linked, are 9/1.

A little further back are Manchester United and Aston Villa, who are both priced at 12/1.

Cardiff City are 16/1 outsiders to sign the 30-year-old.

The Bluebirds have been installed as favourites to sign Gareth Bale the upcoming window, with odds as short as 3/1 on that happening.

Given Ramsey is a Cardiff City product, the mere mention of a homecoming is sure to get supporters excited.

Last year Ramsey, in a Q&A with supporters on Instagram, refused to rule out the notion of a possible return to his boyhood club one day.

“They helped me become a professional footballer,” he said of Cardiff when asked if he would ever return. “So, why not? Who knows?”

Even the most optimistic City fan would probably concede this was a bit of a stretch, though.
