POLICE are appealing for information following a fire in a social club in Maesteg.

Fire crews were called to Caerau Progressive Club, also known as the Middle Club, in Maesteg on Wednesday, July 7 after reports of a fire.
Extensive damage was caused to the derelict building but no-one was injured.
The building has been empty since 2019 when £350,000 worth of cannabis was found growing there.
At around 3.27pm on Wednesday South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a fire on Caerau Road, Maesteg.
Residents reported that seven fire engines were seen extinguishing the fire and Caerau Road was blocked off. Footage filmed by residents shows smoke coming from the roof of the derelict building. South Wales Fire service said a stop message was received at around 9.25pm.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Police in Maesteg are appealing for information following a fire in the town which is being treated as suspicious.
“At approximately 3.30pm on Wednesday, July 7, police responded to reports of a fire at a derelict building on Caerau Road. Extensive damage was caused to the property but nobody was injured.”
