Wardens back out on the beat to curb littering and dog fouling

-

IN A bid to curb littering and dog fouling, 3GS enforcement officers are back on the beat.

Officers will be patrolling areas across Bridgend council that are known hotspots and carry the power to issue fixed penalty notices to anyone caught dropping rubbish or failing to clean up after their dog.

Eighty-five fixed penalty notices for littering including smoking-related litter have already been handed out after the team returned in April.

Councillor Stuart Baldwin, the council’s cabinet member for communities, said: “The work done by 3GS enforcement areas is vital to keeping littering and dog fouling offences as low as possible. Their powers to enforce and hand out fixed penalty notices to those found flouting the rules will hopefully act as an effective deterrent and help keep the area free from litter and dog waste.”
