Faces old and new fill spaces at Cory
CORY has welcomed four fantastic new players – Richard Knight, Ffion Haf Morris, Meg Giles and Gareth Robinson.
After giving great service to Cory Band since 1980, Phil Harris has decided to hang up his cornet and all the band are sad to see him leave.
Ffion replaces Phil on 3rd cornet, who has just received a first class honours degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Cardiff.
Karen Fletcher, 2nd horn player with Cory since 2018, has had a change of circumstances during the pandemic period and has relinquished her position with the band. Megan, a second year student at the RWCMD and formerly a player with Wantage Band, will be Karen’s replacement.
Gareth on trombone and Richard on horn are both ex-Cory players and they will be for two players who have had to leave the area due to the pandemic.
They will keep their seats warm till the end of the year.
