Photographer’s pregancy picture is a work of art
A BRIDGEND-BASED photographer has seen her work given the stamp of approval by one of the industry’s largest organisations.
Adele Morris’s photo of a pregnant woman has been highly commended by the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP).
Adele, who lives in Porthcawl but is originally from Llandybie bie in Carmarthenshire, specialises in newborn, wborn, baby and family photography. hy.
She also lectures es media at Neath College and is a mother of three children.
Speaking about ut being recognised d by the SWWPP, P, Adele said: “To be already receiving recognition from my peers with being awarded d highly com- mended for my maternity photograraphy is a big deal, eal, especially with it being the first time I had entered my maternity work, and the first of my photography graphy entries for 2022, so it was unexpected. td
“Ending 2022 on a high has made me realise that I want to focus more on Maternity in 2023.
Adding: “The image I took won a Highly Commended Maternity Award in a competition run by SWPP.
“Maternity photography has been a huge part of my business, I have been photographing pregnant women even before I launched Adele Morris Photography.
“I first picked up my camera to photograph pregnancy back in 2004, when I was teaching expected mothers how to document their pregnancy journey journe and their new baby during the early weeks after their arrival.
“With years of experience working with mums-to-be, mum and my own experience of pregnancy pr and motherhood, I recognise re the connection c my clients cl have with creating cr life and the th want to hold on to those precious cio moments beyond bey pregnancy.” She Sh added: “Being a mum to three little ones I feel really helps when photographing maternity, it’s it’ being able to relate to my clients’ needs, limitations, li it ti and d desires, d i and the importance to show the bond between parent and child, I know how strong that bind is.”
Adele has also seen her work showcased by Vogue Italia on a number of occasions.
