A few Marvel heroes have been celebrating big anniversaries over the last few years, and 2023 is no different.
This year marks the 60th birthday of not only The Avengers, but of Janet van Dyne, aka The Wasp.
To celebrate, the founding Avenger is getting her own new comic run.
With a story that looks into Janet’s past as well as her future, when an old enemy threatens Janet and her Earth616 counterpart Wasp, Nadia, the Van Dynes will have to confront the ghosts in their shared history to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Written by Al Ewing, with art by Kasia Nie, Wasp #1 is out now, priced £3.90.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Last Ronin: The Lost Years #1
The Last Ronin told the tale of a brutal world, in which a single surviving mutant turtle hunts alone in the sewers.
It was a heartbreaking glimpse at the final gut-wrenching days of the Heroes in a Half Shell.
Now, a new fivepart miniseries will further expand that story arc.
A prequel, it will explore what happened to Michelangelo during those fateful years when he had only the need for vengeance and Master Splinter’s journal to guide him.
Look out for a one shot 40-page special, which is due for release in May.
