Festive Bridgend: It was a pleasure to walk through the busy footfall at the Rhiw Arcade last Saturday where the shops and walkway were filled with colourful, interesting goodies. It was particularly pleasing to see
Tim Woods and all the marketeers happy and busy at work again. They are all wished a happy and successful Christmas after a long shutdown since the indoor market closed.
Foodbank donations: Sunday 10th December Westward Community Centre. Cefn Glas was utilised as a drop-in donation station collection point for the foodbank of Bridgend. An excellent success as can be seen in the photo below and a big thank you to all who supported the event.
Congratulations: Well done to Owen Edwards of Litchard who recently passed his driving test on his first attempt. Owen is studying A-levels at Brynteg Comprehensive School and mum Leanne, clerk at Bridgend Town Council, hopes he will drive carefully at all times.
Thank you: A big thank you to Mrs Marion Thomas of Colwinston for her large donation of wool which will be shared between avid knitters in the area.
Special birthday: Happy Birthday to attractive Helen Evans of Laleston who celebrates her 60th birthday on December 11, from all her keepfitting friends who do not believe she is that age and wonder what her secret is?! Cheers Helen
Santa's grotto: The grotto in Carnegie House, Wyndham Street will be open on Saturday 16th December from 10-4pm then Santa will be returning to the North Pole. Bridgend Lions Club: Santa‘s Grotto is run by The Lions Club of Bridgend in Carnegie House and is supported by Bridgend Town Council. All proceeds of the Christmas Grotto will be distributed to local Charities by the Lions Club of Bridgend.
